Out and About: Photos in the Sun

We had glorious weather last Monday, although it was biting cold, especially with the breeze blowing in from the sea.  T wanted to go around our little village on her scooter.  But I told her we had to walk Doc first, after a few whinges, she gave in.  I reminded her that Doc was her dog, not mine and therefore she was responsible for walking him, especially during breaks from school.

As you can see, she did get to ride her scooter around after walking her dog.

What have you guys been up to during the half-term break?

  1. Beautiful photos! Looks like everyone had fun, even if it was cold. We went to the park on Sunday and there was a freezing cold wind then too. Today we’re going out to the library in a moment.

    • How lucky! Wish we had a library nearby. The weather today is perfect for hiding and reading in libraries 🙂

  2. Two days ago we had sunshine and today there’s snow lying on the ground. It’s always a good idea to get out and about on the good days even if it is cold. You took some great pics, both child and doggy looked like they had a great outing Lovely post, as always, Dean. #BloggersUKClub

    • Thanks Kerry-Ann! Two days we had lovely sunshine, as I type this, I look out my window and it’s all grey, wet and cold 🙁

  3. I always want to join you when I see the stunning views on your nearby walks! Georgeous photos Dean! Now off to pick up my daughter from her half term riding club.

    • Oh Kris and that’s exactly how I feel every time I see photos on your blog too! Coming from you, I’m really pleased you like them 🙂 xx

I think it’s so important to start instilling a small sense of responsibility in the little ones when they are still young, nothing huge just a little bit! I think that’s healthy, my son wanted a hamster so he helps me clean it out and i think its just healthy for kids to know if they take a pet on they have to follow up with looking after it, like anything else in life. x

    • I couldn’t agree more. My daughter knows Doc is her dog and has to help take care of him like walk him when she’s on her break 😉

  5. Such lovely photos, I love to see the sunshine! We have spent most of half term stuck in so far, no sunshine on the south coast! Xx

    • Same here. Apart from going to the cinema and we’re also scheduled to visit inlays over the weekend, but that’s about it 🙂 x

  6. Hi Dean, it’s good that you remind T who’s dog it is. We allowed our daughter to have her own dog when she turned ten and she loves the dog to bits, but still (six years later) has to be made aware of the fact it’s her dog and she needs to tend to her needs (although we do take her on our Sunday walks with us, as Catherine doesn’t join us on them).

Doc looks like a lovely dog and watching dogs off lead is spirit lifting.

We don’t have half terms over here, they just have a really long summer holiday instead.

    • Thanks Debbie. To be fair, she has to be constantly reminded that she has to help take care of Doc. But she knows Doc is hers, so most times she listens 🙂 x

  7. What brilliant photos, looks like you all had a great time, even if it was cold! We went bike riding one day but the rest of half term stuck inside due to the weather!

    • Thank you! We do try to go out especially when the sun is out, even if it’s cold, as long as everyone is bundled up! 🙂

  8. What a beautiful place to walk the dog!! Such cute photos. And great that she got to ride her scooter after too. I hope you had a good rest of your half term .Thank you for sharing with #whatevertheweather xx

    • Thank you! Yes, we did have a lovely half-term break. Hope you had a good one too 🙂

  9. What lovely photos, I really want a dog but my Hubby says I would be the same and never walk it so Im not allowed. He probably has a point 🙂 Thank you for joining us at #BloggerClubUK hope to see you again next week x

    • Yes, that’s it with dogs, you absolutely have to walk him whatever the weather 😉 x

  10. It looks like an absolutely gorgeous place to walk your dog and beautiful blue skies too! Lovely that your daughter has her own pet to care for and love and great that she got to go out on her scooter too. You clearly live in a beautiful part of the country.
Thanks so much for linking up to #Whatevertheweather 🙂 x

    • Thanks! She does help, not all the time and I admit we have to prod her most times 😉 x
