Before The Rain

Quick Doc, let’s go out for a walk before the rain comes!  Little T says as she puts on her wellies.

Woof, answers Doc with his tail wagging excitedly.

Woof, woof, woof, woof!

Let me off my leash, please!

Nope, sorry Doc, says little T.

Because you might scare away the lambs!

There!  Says little T pointing to the other field.

Woof, woof, woof!

I want to play with them.

Sorry, you can’t play with the little lambs!  Little T says shaking her head.

Woof. Woof, woof, woof, woof!

Fine. I’ll just stay here on the other side of the fence then, Doc says sulking.

You do that, says little T in her grown-up voice.

Woof, woof, woof, woof!

Can we go over the edge please?

Woof, woof, woof!

I want to play in the ocean!

Little T sighs and shakes her head again.

Because you might fall and die like Nemo’s mum! Explains little T to the very excitable puppy.

Woof, woof, Nemo?

Who is Nemo?

Oh never mind, Doc!  You ask so many questions!

Woof, woof, woof?

Why is your mum taking a photo of your wellies?

Because she’s proud of her new farmer’s boots, explains Little T.

She bought those wellies in a farmer’s shop because her old wellies don’t fit her calves.  Little T looks around, checking whether to see if her mum was within ear-shot.  She was too busy taking photos to even notice her daughter talking about her.

She has big calves, whispers little T.  But don’t tell her I said that!

Woof, woof, woof, woof!

But her new wellies makes her walk funny and she looks like a clown too!

Woof, woof, woof!

Yes, like that clown in that place where you get your Happy Meal.

Are you saying my mum looks like Ronald McDonald?!

Oh you’re in so much trouble now!

We better go home now before the rain comes, says little T.

Don’t be rude!

It’s been a case of getting out in between the showers recently, I’m sure both Doc and T appreciated the fresh air and lovely views. Thanks for linking up and sharing their adventures with Country Kids.

  2. heheheheehe – you have big calves! That in itself is not funny, but that whole section cracked me up! I love your new rain boots – and little T just looked so cute in her new boots and jacket!
I started to say how great it was that you’d let her play out in the rain – and then I remembered where you live… I would guess if you never went out in the drizzle, you’d probably never get out!
