A Dog Story: White Stuff

It was white and cold.

I wasn’t sure of it.

I didn’t know what it was.

I’ve never seen it before.

I smelled it.

I’ve never smelled anything like it before.

It wasn’t like water.

But it felt wet and cold against my nose.

I tasted it.

I’ve never tasted anything like it before.

I’m not sure I’d want to eat it.

I eat anything.

My little human and her friend seemed to love it though.

They gathered the white stuff in their hands and threw it at each other.

If they liked it, why did they throw it?

They laughed so I knew they were having fun.

As for me,I still wasn’t sure about it.

My human’s dad, didn’t let me off the leash.

I’m guessing, it’s because there were sheep nearby.

I like sheep.

I like to come up to them and say “Hi”

I don’t think they like me though.

They never say “Hi” back.

Come to think of it, the thing on the ground is white like sheep.

What is this white stuff?

That’s what they called it.

Where did it come from?

  1. What a fun post! I love how you formatted this and the pictures were great! I can imagine that was very much what your dog was thinking as he adventures out into this new experience!

  2. i can’t wait to take the cat and dog out into the snow, but that will involve a move of several thousand miles, our chicken used to like the snow when we lived in the UK, but used it as an excuse to come into the kitchen to get warm

    • Using the snow as an excuse to get inside made me chuckle. Hey, it’s a perfectly good excuse, don’t you think? 😉

  3. Stella doesn’t like snow…she can’t help but sniff it though and then she can’t stop sneezing! Then she can’t decide whether to tiptoe in it or run like the clappers to get back to the safety of indoors as quickly as possible.

You’d think she’d have learnt it won’t hurt her by now but every Winter it’s a complete and utter surprise!

    • That’s so cute! I can imagine the whole scene of her wanting to tiptoe back in-doors 😉 x

  4. Brilliant! I think as Saari is half Husky it was inbuilt for her to know what snow is and to love it. Sadly (for her) we have had hardly any over the last couple of years but I am quite happy about that!
Many thanks for adding this “first” to #AnimalTales
