Word of the Week: Wet

I think the really crappy weather is getting to me a bit now.  Maybe because it’s summer, whereas I can handle the bad, depressing, wet and long grey days in the autumn and winter, because that’s what you’d expect right?  But it’s summer now and this endless string of wet and cold(ish) days are getting to be such a drag.  We have a list of endless things-to-do in our garden, but it just won’t stop.

Yes, it’s all been about the wet days for us this week, although of course, we didn’t spend the whole days inside.  As soon as the rain would stop, T and I would rush out.  She’d go straight to her trampoline while I pottered around in the garden.  As soon as it would start raining again, we’d head back inside.

We haven’t been out and about either, since this week has also been about finally putting up mirrors and paintings up the wall.  I’m so pleased we finally managed to hang up the mirror in the living room as well as some frames.  My husband wants to make some more extra shelves on that empty wall beside the chimney breast.

As mentioned on this post, T had a playdate last Monday which ended up with her finally losing her wobbly tooth, which her friend accidentally knocked out.

T has also been playing with her Orbeez or water beads as some may call them.

I’ve also managed to somehow sort little T’s room and get rid of some of the remaining boxes in the conservatory which we’ve known turned into a dinning/play room for T.  We still have loads to do to make it look less messy, but then again, is it ever possible to have a neat house when you have a little one?

We may have moved in way back in May, but we still have a lot of re-arranging/decluttering to do, especially in our bedroom.  But we’ll get there eventually … I hope.  Now if only this blasted rain would stop!

Has it also been bad for you, weather wise?

Do share.

    • We’ve had a few sunny days and a few days of rain. I do hope we get more sunny weather soon though.

      • I see photos of sunshine on FB and Instagram and get really envious!

  1. Aww I agree with you, but right now I’d be keen for something cold and wet over humid and wet… This drizzle is making me feel like I’m sweaty! Haha! Proper sunshine would be so much better though.

    • It was another rainy day again today, I’m afraid. But the weekend is supposed to clear up … hopefully 😉

  2. The one thing you can’t book is the weather eh. Glad you are getting stuff sorted out though, it takes ages to unpack after a move. Enjoy your weekend 🙂 The living room looks really nice 🙂

  3. Yes it is really crazy to experience something like this during summer. Well i guess it is because of the climate change in our mother earth. Well I wish we could ho overseas now and experience a diffent weather.

  4. You have been busy, it must feel good to get so much done. It’s a shame you haven’t been able to get in the garden much because of the rain. Let’s hope it brightens up again and soon (i.e. before Autumn please!)

  5. That room looks lovely and cosy and Grace keeps going on about the orbeez, I will probably have to buy some. Here is to the better weather x

    • Thank you. Yes, do try them. The kids like to play with it with their toys.

  6. aah the living room looks super cosy! Setting up takes a lot of time! I moved to a new place in March and i am finally adding the finishing touches to the house! it is such a relief i tell you!

    • Two years? I’m not surprised though, you think you’re getting there, but in reality, moving really slow… We’ll get there eventually 😉

  7. Oh I wish the rain would stop too! I love the water beads. I used to have little gems that were a bit bigger than that called mermaid tears. I loved playing with them and my dolls! x

  8. Oh it’s always raining in Ireland! It gets very annoying in the summer though. That’s so funny T’s tooth was knocked out with the help of a friend. Decluttering is no fun but great when it’s all done! x

    • You must be used to it then! I ought to get used to it too, but we’re mostly away in the summer, but staying put this year, perhaps that’s the reason why it’s really getting to me 😉 x

  9. Nope its not possible to have a clean house haha! Its been like this in here too and like you guys we try to go out when the sun is out. I heard it going to be better in the next days – fingers crossed on that one. #wotw

    • It’s been great since yesterday. But according to the weather forecast, it will be crap again tomorrow 🙁

    • Certainly is that. We’ve had lovely weather since yesterday, though it’s going to be bad again tomorrow. Story of our lives 😉

    • Our weekend was great, but it’s wet and grey again for two days now I’m afraid.
