One of Those Days

It was one of those days yesterday when nothing seemed right.  In the morning, T went off to school and “forgot” to bring her cello with her.  The quotation marks means, mummy forgot to remind her to bring her cello.  What on earth is wrong with her?  She normally doesn’t forget things (she does).

It was one of those weird days when everything seemed to happen in slow-motion, even the ticking of the clock.

The air yesterday was just soporific. I sat in the conservatory with Boots and just closed my eyes, almost falling asleep, with a mug of coffee in my hand.  But no amount of caffeine could help perk me up.   It was sunny but the air was cold …

It was definitely one of those days when nothing seemed right, if this was happening in a Murakami novel, Boots the cat would suddenly speak to me, and once I stood up, I’d be stepping into a whole different reality.

Yes, it was definitely one of those days.  Hopefully tomorrow, all will be back to normal.

Have you had one of those days lately?

    • Luckily for me, it was my husband who drove back to the school with her cello. Mustn’t forget next time 😉

  1. I’m having one of those afternoons I think. I woke up early full of energy but it seems to have all disappeared now. It’s either the weather or the lack of sweet baked goods in my kitchen 😉 Time to sit in the garden with a cuppa and relax for a while.

    • I think it’s the lack of your lovely sweet baked goods in your kitchen 😉 Hope your day has improved too 🙂

  2. Yes, all the time unfortunately. Funny about you saying the time was going slow. I kept looking at my clock yesterday thinking how slow time was going and it wasn’t until the clock stopped completely that I realised it was an hour later than what the clock was telling me!

  3. Every day for me just now is one of those days lol. Hopefully things got better for you 🙂

    • They certainly have, thank you! 🙂 Hope yours has improved too.

  4. I’ve definitely had days like this lately – I’ve been to a few things in the last week or two where I feel like I’m there in body but my head is just God knows where! x

    • We all have those days, I’m glad today was different though 😉

  5. I hope that today has been a better day for you. I had a ‘one of those days’ last week, from the moment I woke up until the moment I went to bed everything just went a bit wrong xx

    • It definitely was better, thanks! Glad your week is better 🙂

  6. I hope you have a better day tomorrow. I hate it when I have a day like that, I just want to crawl back under my duvet and sleep the day away xxx

  7. yep I have those days a lot, especially around my little girl – i think it’s the tireness of constantly being ‘on’. At work, I’m grand, but at home, I’m like that!

  8. I get days like that, will take girls to school and when I get back home I think I need to do this, this and this so will sit with a coffee first then time ticks by and its already lunch time so only one thing will get done when there was like 4 things

    • Thank goodness, I actually don’t have them that much… But I’m glad it’s over for you by 2pm 🙂

    • I’m not surprised. You guys have had a long adventure lately and yes, you need your sleep! 🙂

  9. I had one of those days yesterday where I was over come by the urge to smash things, rare that it happens but nothing went right what so ever x

    • Oh dear, do hope you never end smashing things? They do come occasionally too, but thank goodness, not that often or else …

    • Definitely did, thanks! It was just one of those days … 😉

    • I guess the best way to deal with it is just to ride it out. It never lasts anyway 🙂

I haven’t had one of those days in a long time, for me it’s the opposite and time is ticking away too quickly. I hope today is a better day for you.

    • With a newly born, that’s definitely understandable! I bet the days go by so quick for you. x
