Sports Day

Last Thursday the primary school in our little village held their sports day at the football field not far from our house.  Little T and her other friends who will join the said school come September showed their support by showing up at the event.

The only problem though, they decided that it was more fun to play at the playground which was right beside the football field.

Here’s little T being pushed on the swing by her best friend F …

… while their other friends were busy on the merry-go-round.

Next year though will be different.  They won’t be allowed to play at the playground on sports day.  These little ones will actually be included in the event!  How time flies.  It’s bittersweet actually.  Part of me feels she’s growing up way too fast, but the other is excited for her to join “big school” because I know she will certainly enjoy it.

Aww well it looks like they had fun anyway! Time really does go so fast and they grow so quick! Sad but exciting at the same time 🙂 xx

  2. My son will start proper school this September as well. I am so excited! So many things that had happened to him when he started preschool. Mostly good like being more sociable and friendly! Cant wait for what the new school will bring =) #countrykids

    • That’s great! 🙂 Excited too for T, but also a bit sad, it feels like they are all growing up way too fast!

  3. This post has just brought up memories of their sports day when we were last in the UK! Lovely memories too. How exciting that Little T will sooooon be starting school.

    • Yes, like I said exciting and a bit sad too… Here comes another phase in our lives as parents!

  4. Wow, so lucky. My sons school don’t seem to have one because they don’t have any grass areas or any close by Looks like the perfect day for it #countyrkids

  5. It is a difficult time for parents isn’t it. I think the secret is to just try to enjoy each and every moment,, and the memories will last a lifetime.
