Paddling Pool Fun

Although the really lovely warm weather seems to have gone (for now at least), I look at these photos I took of T and her friend W last Monday and marvel at home warm and lovely that day was.  Did it really happen?

It took me the whole morning though to fill up T’s paddling pool.  I actually did most of my blogging out in the garden that day which was absolute bliss!  It almost felt like I was on holiday somewhere nice and warm.

All that waiting was so worth it seeing little T’s and her friend’s face break into a big smile  when they saw the paddling pool all filled-up and waiting for them after school that Monday afternoon.  After a quick change, they were ready to have some serious paddling pool fun.

Those £2 hoppers were such a great buy, especially since T and her friend had so much fun playing with them in and out the pool.

It was great to watch them from the window up in my room as I typed away and listened to their squeals and giggles.  At that moment, it dawned on me, that this is the sound of summer.  This is what summer should always sound like – the laughter and giggles of children having fun.

Today is T’s first day off school and I’m afraid the weather isn’t as good as Monday.  Hopefully the lovely sunshine and warmth will be back soon.

What about you?

Have you guys been doing anything fun during the warm days?

Do share.

Country Kids from Coombe Mill Family Farm Holidays Cornwall

  1. Looks like so much fun!! My kids don’t break up til tomorrow and I’ve just started a part time job. I will definitely be making the most of the holidays with the kids on my days off. Xx

    • Hope the weather improves by the time your kids breakup from school and good luck with the part time job 🙂

    • Yes, it was lovely under that parasol. But went back inside once the kids were in the pool, they kept splashing! Didn’t want my laptop to get wet.

  2. The weather really has been lovely recently. We don’t have a garden and really miss having one this time of year. I took Blake to a local splash park which also has a large sandpit area they call the beach yesterday.

    • Have no idea. One thing I can say, is that the sun isn’t in Cornwall right now 🙁

  3. It looks like they had a great day and those hoppers are great for the price! I really need to get my monkey one of those. We haven’t been having nice sunny weather here at all (glasgow) it’s been warm the past 2 days like extremely warm but no sun so my little guy seems to think it’s cold haha been having plenty of indoor activities.

    • We got them in Asda and it was on sale. Is there an Asda in Glasgow? If yes, I’m sure they’ll be on sale too. Glad your little one has also been having lots of fun too.

    • Oh no, it must be awful to be commuting in the heat. Hope it’s cooler now.

    • It WAS lovely. I’m afraid it’a totally different story today 🙁

    • I’m afraid the lovely warm weather has left us 🙁 Hopefully it will come back.

  4. This looks really fun. We just bought one as well and I will definitely join my little one tomorrow. It will surely be a nice bonding session

    • My husband also joined my daughter and yes, it’s a good bonding session 🙂

    • Thank you. Though we still need to do loads of planting and other stuff 😉 You should see our-to-do list 😉 x

  5. Lovely post. Doesn’t the sun and a bit of warmth bring out the best in us. The kids look like the love the paddling pool and I haven’t seen any space hoppers in ages so I’ll be keeping an eye out for those!

  6. It may have taken you all morning to fill the pool but it was definitely worth it. Those pictures are gorgeous and it was certainly paddling pool weather. We were just coming home from Greece on Monday and when we touched down at Heathrow I felt like I was in the wrong country! the air conditioning had broken on the car too, I could have done with your paddling pool! I hope there is more summer sun for us all.

Thank you for sharing with me on #CountryKids

    • And then the weather changed 🙁 It’s been drizzling all day, I’m beginning to think that’s all the summer we’ll ever get. But hopefully, I’m wrong. x

    • I’m envious! It was only warm from the weekend till about Tuesday and then it actually felt like summer was gone 🙁

    • I’m afraid summer on our end of England has just been cancelled 🙁

    • That’s what I love about this house, we just moved in last May. At our previous house, we could only manage a small paddling pool, but this time, the garden is big enough for a huge one and a trampoline and other stuff 😉

  7. This looks like so much fun! Oh I wish I was a kid again!
We have been heading to the park quite a few times recently, as soon as the sun makes an appearance 🙂 Hopefully we will have some more sunny days over the holidays! x
