Let the Countdown Begin

I don’t know about you, but I’m so ready for the summer holidays to begin.  While admittedly we don’t really have plans for the summer apart from doing day trips to Weymouth Sea Life Adventure Park, I just can’t wait to be able to spend some family time together and do things, without having to worry about school the next day.  I also think little T and her friends are just about ready for the summer holidays to begin as well.

Starting Monday next week, we have only about 18 days to go before the last day of school.  Woohoo!  I feel giddy at the thought of having little T with me all the time.  Oh of course, I’ll moan about it especially when she starts whinging about being bored, I’ll probably wish for the next school term to begin again, but at the moment, I’m feeling really excited!

Just think, no more having to wake up early, rush out the door in haste and we can all spend as much time as we want in our pjs.  I’ve never gardened in my pjs though, have you?

Excited to spend more time in the garden (maybe not in our pjs), get that trampoline up, some swings, and lots of gardening.

This week has just been that, little T asking “When will school end, mum?”  Just a few more weeks, sweetie, is what I tell her.

Our word of the week is : Countdown.

What about you?

Are you also excited for the summer holiday to begin?

Do share.

    • Our garden is kinda private… you’ll never know, I might just give it a go 😉

    • We don’t have any plans either… but in a way, it’s kinda nice, that means the summer will be more of the “relaxed kind”.

  1. Yes, I am! I love the school holidays, and the kids and I have just started putting a little bucket list together of various outings and activities we’d like to do over the summer, which makes me look forward to it even more. Nearly there now! Thanks for sharing with #WotW x

  2. Haha this is what we are all about too SUMMER! I can finally share the Filipino weather to my son. Not as hot but better than nothing.

I can see wear & tear with Sebastian. I feel that he is really tired now and could use some rest from school and we are also counting the days!

    • We were away back home last year and everyone was saying how crap the weather was. Hopefully this summer will be better!

    • Nope. We’re lucky our garden is really private. Nothing there but empty fields, well, the cows. But I don’t think they’d mind if they see me gardening in my pj’s 😉

  3. My little one is only two years old so not going through this yet but your post brought memories back of that last week of school where not much was being done and it you could almost savour the holidays just around the corner 🙂

    • Aww… I can definitely understand why you’d feel that way 😉 It’s bittersweet, isn’t it? x

    • Nearly there, but I guess since your kids are not in school yet, everyday can be a holiday 🙂

  4. I am so excited for the summer holidays also! We break up on the 22nd I think and am counting down the days! We have a holiday booked down in Devon so not far from Weymouth actually, one of my favourite places! xx

    • I’ve never been to Weymouth, so really looking forward to visiting 🙂 x

  5. Have an absolutely amazing summer holiday – I can’t believe how quickly the year seems to have been flying by so far. x

    • I know what you mean. Sometimes time can just slip by without us noticing much!

  6. Aww I bet you can’t wait to have some garden time together. Where i live we dread summer, just because it gets so busy with everyone coming down to the beach, but I’m sure when Evie is at school I’ll think different. A trampoline in the garden sounds like such a perfect idea.

    • Same here. We try to stay away from the beaches too during tourist season and the roads are also more crowded. x

  7. Wow that is not long away at all! I am apprehensive about it as it means Monkey will be starting school afterwards but looking forward to the fun times during the holidays! #wotw

    • How exciting for your little monkey to be starting school in September! 🙂 All the more reason to make this summer holiday special for your family 🙂

  8. Oh yes, not doing the school run would be an absolute joy especially as I’ve been rained out everyday this week whilst attempting to get to and from school – and I mean heavy thunderstorm rain. Not much fun!
Enjoy your countdown, only a few more weeks to go!!

  9. It is good to look forward to the summer holidays. It will be nice to spend more time outside together. Now our sports day is over it feels like summer hols are just around the corner. #WoTW
