A Country Kid’s Post: Winter on The Beach

This is actually a late-post.  Like most people who live by the coast on Boxing day, we found ourselves blowing cobwebs at our go-to-beach, Widemouth Bay which is a mere ten-minute drive from where we live.

And of course, it being a holiday, there were a lot of people on the beach although they aren’t shown in the photos.  T also took her Baby Alive doll on the beach with her, a present she asked from Father Christmas.

Are you familiar with Baby Alive dolls?  They are a bit freaky.  I ought to write about them on a different post and you’ll know why.

T gives Holly, her doll, a piggyback ride all the way back to the car.

Yes, it was time to go home.

Have you visited the beach lately?

I am proud to say that yes, I too spend several days over the Christmas period at the beach. It isn’t Christmas for me without some family beach days. In fact several of us actually ventured into the sea too! You have the beach even closer than us which is perfect. Widemouth Bay looks beautiful, not sure I’d say the same of Baby Alive, but if T is happy that’s what matters, I love her little dip in the sea!

Thank you for linking up at a new year of #CountryKids

    • I did see some of your photos and videos on the beach. Brrr. Looks cold, but so much fun! As for the Baby Alive, yes, it certainly is something else! 😉 x

    • The swimmers weren’t around that day. But yes, I can imagine they were there! Crazy! 🙂

    • It certainly felt that way when we showed up in Widemouth bay. The carpark was as busy as it is in the summer! 😉

  2. We were on the beach Christmas Day after dinner – was an attempt not to go home and fall asleep in front of Tv. It didn’t work! Lovely photos – cute she took the doll with her!#countrykids

    • I think it was raining on Christmas day down here in Cornwall. Good thing the weather cleared up by Boxing day 🙂

    • Here’s hoping your girls won’t discover Baby Alive dolls. They are a bit creepy, although to be fair I’m getting used to them now 😉 x

  3. Lovely picture. I miss daffodills too! I remember the beach in england and just how chilly it gets. I didnt expect the cold would follow us to oman. This month has been freezing!!
